Your cause deserves more than a whisper.
Nonprofit and charity marketing across Canada
Voz Virtual is an online marketing agency for nonprofits, charities and member associations across Canada. We plan your social media, write your newsletters and web copy, design templates your team can reuse, and report results in one clear monthly summary.
The problem
Why nonprofit marketing is hard to keep up
One person, ten jobs
Communications often lands on an executive director, a part-time coordinator or a volunteer who is already stretched thin.
Campaigns start late
Giving Tuesday, year-end giving and volunteer week come around every year, yet the posts and emails are often written the week of.
Your list is one big pile
Donors, volunteers, members and partners all get the same newsletter, so no one gets the message that fits them.
Email rules feel murky
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) applies to many nonprofit emails, and it is not always clear what needs consent and what does not.
What we do
What we do for nonprofits and charities
Social media campaigns
A monthly content calendar for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, with posts created, captioned and scheduled. We plan around your fundraising cycles, awareness months, events and volunteer moments, so your channels never go quiet.
Marketing plans
We help you sharpen your positioning, agree on key messages for donors, volunteers and members, and pick a channel mix your team can actually sustain.
Copy and email marketing
Website pages, appeal and newsletter copy, and blogs that tell your story plainly. We set up newsletter automation, segment your list (for example donors, volunteers and members), and track opens and clicks.
Graphic design
Branded Canva templates so staff and volunteers can make on-brand posts themselves, plus post, story and newsletter graphics and banners made for you.
Performance reports
One clear monthly summary of reach, engagement, follower growth, and email opens and clicks, ready to share with your board.
Key dates
Your year, planned
A sample of the dates and seasons we build nonprofit content around. Your calendar is shaped by your cause, your region and your fundraising cycle.
| Month | Moment | Content idea |
|---|---|---|
| January | New year, fresh plan | Share last year's story in plain words and thank your supporters |
| February | Board and AGM season for many organizations | Member and volunteer recruitment posts, AGM reminders |
| April 19 to 25, 2026 | National Volunteer Week | Volunteer spotlights, a thank-you newsletter, a recruitment push |
| May 4 to 10, 2026 | CMHA Mental Health Week | Supportive, on-mission content if it fits your cause; care for your team and volunteers |
| Spring | Spring appeal or event season | Event countdown posts, ticket reminder emails, sponsor thank-you graphics |
| Summer | Quieter season | Behind-the-scenes stories, impact stories and planning for fall |
| September 30 | National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | A respectful, reflective post that points to Indigenous-led resources, not a campaign |
| October | Thanksgiving | Gratitude posts for donors, volunteers and partners |
| November 15 | National Philanthropy Day (recognized under federal law) | Celebrate your donors and community partners |
| December 1, 2026 | GivingTuesday | Pre-launch teaser, day-of posts and emails, a same-week thank-you |
| December | Year-end giving; gifts must be made by December 31 to count for that tax year | Year-end appeal email series and last-chance reminders |
Proof, not promises
Recent work: association and member communications
Our closest nonprofit-sector work is with a professional association. We write its social media copy for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, including recurring member spotlights and recognition posts that celebrate the people behind the profession. We also built a month-long awareness campaign toolkit for its members, so every workplace could take part with ready-made content.
That work is not fundraising, and we will not pretend it is. But it is the same core skill a charity or member organization needs: telling your community's story, recognizing the people who make it happen, and running a campaign that others can easily join. Client names stay private.

Questions
Nonprofit marketing FAQ
Can you help with our fundraising campaigns?
Yes. We plan social media and email content around your fundraising cycles, such as GivingTuesday, year-end giving and your own events, including posts, captions, graphics and newsletters.
Do our charity emails need to follow CASL?
Often, yes, at least in part. According to the CRTC, emails from a registered charity whose main purpose is raising funds do not need consent, but they still need to identify the sender and include a working unsubscribe. Other messages generally need express or implied consent, and donors, volunteers and members can give implied consent for a limited time. We build identification and unsubscribe links into every template and segment your list by consent. This is general information, not legal advice, so confirm your situation with your own advisor.
Can our staff and volunteers keep making graphics themselves?
Yes. Graphic design includes branded Canva templates, so your team can create on-brand posts, stories and newsletter graphics without starting from scratch.
How much does nonprofit marketing cost?
Every organization is quoted a monthly retainer after a free call. The quote depends on the services, platforms and amount of content you need.
